NTP Client

A NTP client has been added in version 1.2.7, mainly as a programming exercise but also as a straightforward way to show the offset between the computer time and the precise network time. If you have sufficient user rights, you can also synchronise your computer time.



A potential future use of the NTP implementation is to show actual NTP time, not the computer time. Also the offset from NTP time could be shown on the main clock.

User Right

To synchronise your computer using NTP you must either:

• Run the World Map as an administrator, or
• Have the Change the system time user right.

To assign a user right start the Local Group Policy Editor, navigate as in the screenshot and add your username. Make sure you understand the implication of adding this user right.
